Gregor pulls me in close and slides his hand down my back. I’ve seen how he’s looked at me in this gold dress. I know it was the one he preferred out of the three I bought.

The gold heels are my favorite. They make my legs look long and my calves toned. Gregor’s black suit and gold tie complement my dress while giving him a regal look.

I can’t stop smiling as we give his aunt and uncle a run for their money. This man is so smooth as he rolls our bodies together before spinning me out to twist and turn with slow fancy footwork, then switching up to faster steps.

I slip under his arm, and he tugs me back to him as he dances us in a small circle. He stops and leans me forward as if he’s going to drop me but pulls me back up quickly. I burst into laughter as he does a half split.

His uncle cuts in and does a few fancy steps with me as Raven and Gregor cut up.

“Oh my God, she’s so good,” I say in awe.

Gregor even seems to step it up a notch. That’s when Uncle Devin gets my attention and I follow his lead as he dips, twists, and guides me around. I surprise myself as I keep up with him.

I’m breathless as Gregor switches off to come back to me. The crowd stands around the dance floor, clapping to the music as we dance. I look into Gregor’s eyes as I smile up at him.

All my worries and concerns are forgotten. I’m in the moment, enjoying myself. I haven’t had this much fun in so long.

This night has been so much more than I thought it would be. I thought it would be stuffy and boring. It has been anything but.

“You’re enjoying yourself. Good. I love that smile,” Gregor says.

“Where’s Chloe?”

“With mom, she passed out. I was thinking we’d leave soon, but I don’t want to miss out on this moment.”

I place my head on his shoulder. “One more dance. This is fun.”

“Anything you want.”

“I Can’t Help Falling In Love with You” by UB40 comes on and it’s the perfect last dance. I gasp.

“Do you remember—” we say in unison.

My cheeks heat. His lids become hooded, and his eyes drop to my lips. “The first time we made love on the balcony.”

“Yes, I remember,” I whisper.

Of course, he guides us into a slow two-step. Pulling all my weight onto his right side, he steps back and dips with me resting against him.

His moves are competitionworthy, as is his aunt and uncle’s performance a few steps over from us. However, I tune everyone else out as my husband guides me around the dance floor in a sensual dance that makes me want to rush home.

“I love you, Chlo,” he whispers in my ear.

I look up into his eyes and close mine as I try to say the words. I’m close, but not there yet. Still my heart says the words I can’t.

The engagement party was above and beyond what I was expecting. It was opulence at its finest. There were more people than I thought possible.

I’ve never smiled so much in my life. I don’t remember half of the people who we greeted. The craziest part, I do believe Eileen has invited twice as many people to the wedding.

However, I did enjoy myself, even as Ally worked my last nerve. Clooney seemed to be so proud to introduce me and Sid to everyone. I wasn’t expecting that at all.

“Did you enjoy yourself?” Gregor asks, causing me to turn from the window I’ve been staring out while musing as we ride in the back of the Bentley, headed home.

“I enjoyed your Uncle Devin,” I say with a smile.

“You would,” he snorts.

“His sarcasm is perfection.”

“He has a way with words for sure.”

I reach to run my hand through a sleeping Chloe’s hair as Gregor holds her in his lap. She looks like a little angel in her pink dress.

“She was the star of the night,” I murmur.

“No, I believe that was you. Between that dress, mom singing your praises, and your stellar dance moves, you had everyone’s attention tonight.”

I smile. “You know I was offered commissions to do pieces by several guests.”

“You know your show is going to be packed if my mother has anything to do with it. She’s going to make sure Sid’s book is a bestseller as well. Mark my words.”

I laugh. “She’s awesome.”

“My family loves you and Sid.”

“What’s the story with the taunting way Uncle Devin calls you Brodi?”

He gives a laugh. “You caught that?”

“Yes.”

“He thinks it’s childish and hated the fact that everyone called me by the name well into my thirties. He uses it to mock me till this day.”

“He’s your mother’s brother, right?”

“Yes, Aunt Evelyn is Dad’s sister and his only sibling. Uncle Devin is mom’s only as well.”
