Isla’s breath grew faster, and she zeroed in on his lips. They hadn’t talked about boundaries when it came to more intimate things. Did he want to kiss her?

Probably not.

But she really wanted to kiss him.

“Hey! Watch me! I’m going to do a huge dive bomb!” Marcus yelled out.

They turned to see him against the wall, then he started running toward the pool.

“Marcus! Stop running!” Eliot barked, making her jump.

But it was too late. Marcus was committed. He took a flying leap into the pool and Eliot turned her, covering her head with his hand as he protected her from the splash.

His body was practically vibrating as he started moving toward the stairs.

Uh-oh. Marcus was in huge trouble.

He set her down on the steps but kept hold of her hand as they walked up them.

“Marcus, out. Now.”

“Oh, man. Why? I’m still swimming.”

“Your swimming rights have been revoked until I’m certain you can follow orders.” He grabbed her sloth towel where they had left it in a cubbyhole and quickly dried her off before popping it over her head. It had a hood with a sloth face on the top.

Then he dried himself off before they both turned to watch as Marcus pulled himself out of the water, grumbling.

“Why can’t I keep swimming?” he asked as he grew closer.

She glanced up into Eliot’s grim face. Whoa, she was glad she wasn’t the one in trouble. Or at least, not in as much trouble as Marcus was.

Eliot grabbed Marcus’ towel and dried him as well before taking hold of his hand and leading him to a bench by the cubby holes.

Eliot sat and drew Marcus between his legs. “What was the rule about running around the pool?”

“Aww, man.” Marcus stuck out his lower lip in a pout. “But I was fine. I didn’t hurt myself.”

“But you could have. You could have slipped and hit your head and been seriously hurt. How do you think that Isla and I would have felt if that had happened, hmm?”

“Sad?”

“More than sad,” she said. “I can’t live without you.”

“La-la.” He turned to her with big eyes. “Nothing’s going to happen to me.”

“I hope not, because you’re my whole world.”

“And you’re mine.” He reached out a hand, and she squeezed it.

“Right, you have a choice. You’re getting twenty on your bare butt. Your choice is to have it now or wait until we’re back in my suite. Or yours. If you wait, you’re getting an extra five.”

“What? Why?”

“Because I believe in giving spankings as soon as they’re earned. And if I have more time, then I’ll get even more upset thinking about what could have happened.”

She stared at Eliot in amazement. Was he really that worried or was he just saying that? Is this what a good Daddy did? She knew from reading books and what Marcus had told her… but she’d kind of thought most if it was made-up.

“I’ll take my spanking now.”

“Good boy. Let’s undo your shorts first.” Eliot deftly undid the tie, then he arranged Marcus so he lay over his wide lap before he drew his shorts down to bare his bottom.

Eliot started spanking without fanfare. That seemed the way he liked to do things. He said what needed to be said, then got onto things.

She winced as she saw the way Marcus’ bottom grew pink, then a deeper red.

Ouch, by now he was kicking his feet, his breath coming in pants. He let out a sob, and she startled at the noise. Oh no, was he all right? Should she stop Eliot? But last time Eliot had spanked Marcus, he’d told her that she couldn’t interfere.

He has his safeword.

That reassured her.

Eliot won’t harm him.

Right. She was being silly. By the time it finished, Marcus was lying limply over Eliot’s lap, crying. Eliot rubbed his back, talking to him softly. Then he drew his wet shorts up over his red bottom.

Ouch. That was probably going to chafe if he kept them on. Eliot helped him turn over so he was straddling his legs. He pressed him in against his chest, rubbing his back.

He was murmuring to him quietly. She wondered if she should leave? Get dressed? What should she do?

Then Eliot reached out his hand to her. “Come here, little one.”

She moved over, taking his hand as he drew her to sit beside him on the bench. He wrapped one arm around her while the other held Marcus close.

“Good boy. That’s my good babyboy.”

“I’m not a baby,” Marcus muttered.

Eliot winked at her. Was he trying to get a reaction from him?

Marcus snuggled closer. “You’re warm. And snuggly. You have a good cuddle chest.”

“Good to know,” Eliot replied. He was staring down at Marcus with something like… longing?

Or was that wistful thinking on her part? Because she hoped he looked at her the same way? That he might get to know them and want to keep them?
