“He kissed you?” Sarah asked. “Was it a good kiss?”
Kristin’s head pulled back in shock. “Well, um, yeah, it was really good.”
“You enjoyed it? Welcomed it?”
“Well, of course, I did. I’ve been…”
Her voice trailed off, and I quickly made my way over to her. “You’ve been what?”
“Nothing,” Kristin replied.
Sarah’s face erupted in a smile. “You’ve been wanting him to notice you, to kiss you. And he must have been wanting the same thing for the spell to have worked like it did.”
I cleared my throat. “Well, we might have changed one or two things.”
Sarah’s smile faded as she closed her eyes, appeared to count to ten, then looked directly at me. “Tell me what you did.”
“Okay, well, everything was fine until Kristin changed the last part of the spell and said something about wanting Shawn to see her naked and be inside her, or something like that.”
Sarah looked at Kristin who simply shrugged. “I was tipsy and slightly horny.”
Pinching her brows, Sarah whispered, “It’s only nine in the morning, and I need a drink.”
“Same,” Kristin and I both said.
“Oh, and I used a white sage and lavender smudge during the spell.”
With a long, exasperated sigh, Sarah stood. “You only made the spell stronger by doing that.”
“I think so because Lucas said Shawn was desperate to get to Kristin last night, and he heard him jerking off in the shower and calling out Kristin’s name.”
Sarah gagged while Kristin’s eyes went wide.
“He did? He was masturbating while thinking of me?” Kristin asked with her hand over her heart. “Oh, my gosh! Last night, I did the same th–”
Sarah covered Kristin’s mouth. “Don’t. Say. It. Please, I don’t need another visual.”
My hand came up to my mouth to contain my laughter.
Sarah started to pace the room and mumbled something I wasn’t entirely too sure I wanted to hear. She suddenly stopped and looked at both of us.
“You two clearly need to not do spells together. And Kristin, I’m seriously thinking you may be a witch as well. We’ll need to look at your family tree.”
Kristin jumped as she clapped. “Oh, my gosh! Do you think so?”
I rolled my eyes. “As you were saying, Sarah…”
“Kristin, by you doing the spell in the…state…you were in, you passed off your…” She cleared her throat. “…horny vibes over to Shawn. The only way you could have done that is if you had a lot of magick going into the spell.”
“That’s why you think she might be a witch?” I asked.
Sarah nodded. “We all have some kind of power in us, it’s just knowing how to use it. Some have it more than others.”
“My mother used to always tell me we all had a little witch in us,” Kristin said. “I wonder if she was trying to tell me something?”
I smiled at her as she smiled at me.
“Well, as fun as you two think this is, you’ve messed with another person.”
“But you can’t mess with free will,” I argued.
Sarah folded her arms and waited for me to piece it together. I hated teachable moments.
Then it hit me. “Oh, my God. Shawn has feelings for Kristin. That’s why the spell is so powerful. It simply enhanced his desires.”
“Well, that’s kind of disappointing. Would he have not kissed me like that had we not altered the spell?”
Sarah shook her head. “I’m sure he would have. It’s just now, he is being very open about his feelings. He can’t stop himself.”
“How do we get him to go back to being normal?” I asked.
“Wait!” Kristin said as she stepped between us. “I don’t want to go back to fighting with him all the time. I want…I want to see where things will go with us.”
Sarah took Kristin’s hand. “The only way to do that, Kristin, is to remove the spell and go about it the old-fashioned way. Don’t you want to know that he wants you because of how he feels and not because you put a spell on him?”
Tears formed in Kristin’s eyes as she nodded. I wrapped my arm around her as she dropped to a seated position on the bed.
“What do we have to do?” I asked.
“The reversal spell, but Kristin must be the one to do it. That means, you have to tell him about the spell.”
Kristin chewed on her lip. “He’s going to be so mad.”
I took her hand in mine. “Maybe not. He might think it’s funny, and it will bring you guys together like it did me and Lucas.”
Kristin nodded, then looked up at Sarah. “Okay, so if I have to turn him back to the grumpy jerk he was before, can I not just enjoy today with him like this? I mean, the sex would probably be amazing.”
Sarah, who had sat down on the other side of Kristin, dropped back onto the bed and let out a frustrated cry that I was pretty sure woke the undead.
